SARAH SUHAIL
CO-DIRECTOR
Dr. Sarah Suhail is a feminist organizer and researcher who holds a Ph.D. in Gender Studies from Arizona State University. Her dissertation reads the life stories of women who have escaped bonded labor in Sindh alongside the stories of Khawaja Sira Gurus from Lahore, describing their conditions of life and labor, their struggles and their strategies for freedom. Her dissertation work is part of a larger project that explores the tools and strategies of resistance used by people relegated to the margins of society by gender regime in Pakistan, constructing from the grassroots an analysis of the exclusion and disposability of certain people lie at the heart of majoritarian nationalisms. She is a member of the Feminist Collective and has worked with peasant, fisherfolk, and feminist movements in Pakistan on issues regarding intersectional oppression and the politics of resistance. Suhail is also an advocate of the Lahore High Court and works as a free lance advocate for refugees in the Global North.
KYLA PASHA

Dr. Kyla Pasha is a researcher and educator with nearly two decades of experience in action research, feminist organizing, and human rights reporting. She received her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from Arizona State University in 2022, examining women’s access to public ritual space. She is authore of the poetry collection High Noon and the Body, published by Yoda Press in 2010, and co-editor of Two Loves: Faiz’s Letters from Jail, from Sang-e-Meel Publications in 2011. She was editor of Chay Magazine from 2008 to 2013.
